Becht Companies' Owner
Becht Companies, Inc. was founded by Stephen M. Becht, Esq., P.E., Broker, CCIM, SIOR. Mr. Becht is among the top commercial real estate practitioners in the United States.
He is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and has been inducted into the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) which are affiliates of the National Associations of Realtors (NAR). Only about 5 percent of all commercial real estate practitioners have been awarded the CCIM designation and less than 2,400 people have been inducted into SIOR. Mr. Becht is one of fewer than 500 people in the United States who hold both designations and is the only person in this select group who is both an attorney and a registered professional engineer.
He has a unique perspective from over 20 years of experience in environments that include corporate executive suites, division/operations, construction sites, and a private law firm. He has held positions in strategy & business planning, management, real estate, plant & corporate engineering, maintenance & construction.
Mr. Becht has served as the worldwide Director of Real Estate for The Marmon Group, Inc. in Chicago, IL. He established and headed the Real Estate & Facilities Operation for RCA/Thomson Consumer Electronics, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN, and was also the Vice President of Mead Realty Group, Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Mead Corporation) in Dayton, Ohio.
Mr. Becht graduated from the University of Dayton with a BSCE in Civil/Structural Engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer. He received a Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law, and is a licensed attorney. Mr. Becht also attended the Graduate Schools of Business Administration at Texas A&M University and the University of Dayton. He is a licensed real estate broker and a former Director of the International Development Research Council (IDRC).
